FAQsIsn't saying that there is no god blasphemy?It's only blasphemy if you are a hypocrite. If you don't believe in a god then how can you blaspheme against something that does not exist? If a god did exist then it would make you believe thus negating the concept. The concept of blasphemy is essentially nonsense because if anyone thinks that an all-powerful god would be perturbed by the mere words of mortals then they are seriously deranged.Can anyone be compassionate and humane without religion in their lives?To be compassionate and humane are natural human feelings/emotions, and are not the preserve of those that have contracted religion. When you consider how many murders, oppressions, punishments, tortures and wars that have been, and continued to be, carried out in the name of a god I think you'd agree that religion most certainly does not have any claim on these two words.You can't prove that there isn't a god, can you?No, that is true, but you can't prove that there is one either. You could believe that there is a man in the moon and that he has a banana for a penis, it is highly unlikely but as at the moment you can't prove either way, so you could say that you can't disprove the existence of banana knob man. Surely an all powerful god would be able to dispel any doubts that we might have as to their existence. An all powerful god would hardly be so vague as to leave their existence to question. |
